Training and Support Network
2009-2010 Schedule
A Ministry Serving Foster and Adoptive Parents, Children and Youth

The objectives for the Training & Support Network are to help support foster and adoptive parents, and serve foster and adopted children and youth. We offer training and support for foster and adoptive parents, as well as educators and professionals, and volunteers who are currently serving as camp counselors, mentors, respite care, etc. The meetings are for all who want to: a) consider becoming a foster or adoptive parent, b) learn more about the needs of foster and adopted children and youth, or c) volunteer to help serve foster and adoptive parents, children, or youth. The Training & Support Network is a partnership of ACTION and the Foster & Kinship Care Education agency.

• Meetings are on Saturdays, October 10, February 27, April 24 and June 12
• 8:30 am to Noon on October 10 and 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. for the 2010 dates
• 1 hour: Training-Equipping
• 1 hour: Support-Networking
• Location: EvFree Church – 999 Rancho Conejo Blvd. in Newbury Park

February 27: Foster Children & the Adults in their Lives – Pattie Hunt and Wendy Homan
Foster Parent Association – Pattie and Wendy will draw on their experience as foster parents and mentors to other foster parents and will share their insights about balancing the children’s relationships with biological parents, foster parents, and other adults (CASA’s, mentors, etc.) who are in their lives.
